Senate President, other Senators happily visit just released Orji Kalu at home [photos]

Orji Uzor Kalu played host to the Senate President of Nigeria, Ahmad Lawan, and other senators on Thursday. The team of senators led by Ahmad Lawan visited Kalu, chief whip of the red chamber, a day after he was released from Kuje prison following his conviction by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Kalu, former governor of Abia, was jailed alongside Ude Jones Udeogu, a former director of finance and account of Abia state.

They were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on 36 counts of money laundering to the tune of N7.1 billion.

However, at Kalu’s residence, all the senators wore face masks but did not observe social distancing when they posed for photographs.
