The Royal couple first met at University and it was his cooking which helped bring them together.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on a special one-off show on Monday night, A Berry Royal Christmas .
Kate explained to veteran Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry the dish the Prince first prepared to try to win her heart.
He didn't shy away from duty at University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where the pair studied in 2001.
“In our university days he used to cook all sorts of meals - I think that was when he was trying to impress me, Mary," she said.
"Things like Bolognese, sauces and things like that.”
But she added: “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time now,” before the Duke replied: “It’s the reason I’m so skinny!”
William was later asked if he’d be cooking with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis over Christmas.
He said: “We are talking about doing mince pies this year. I love mince pies. If the children want to cook mince pies then I’m happy to do that.”
Kate then added: “We grow our own vegetables too.
“We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot - a massive favorite. Louis absolutely loves beetroot.”
Needless to say she also loves baking.
“I love making the cake,” she shared. “It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it.”
