Every look was a hit!
Tracee Ellis Ross had one goal while hosting the 2018 American Music Awards last night, ‘go hard or go home‘. Needless to say, Tracee outdid our expectations with funny but well-executed performances and introductions as well as statement-making outfits. For the culture, the Hollywood star teamed up with her stylist Karla Welch to adorn herself in graceful outfits all made by black designers!
Hitting the red carpet just before the main business of the day commenced, Tracee stepped out in a blush pink pantsuit, off Pyer Moss’ Spring/Summer 2019 ready to wear collection. Sticking to her outfits’ warm tone, she kept her makeup simple and clean. A stunning pair of black red bottoms completed this look.
While we were still gushing over more red carpet looks, Tracee had more in store for us, for her second look she dominated the stage with a black sequinned jumpsuit by Nicolas Jebran, throwing on a bomb Dapper Dan x Gucci cape accessorized with 3D by Dapper Dan x Gucci collab, she paired the daring creation with a pair of white sneakers.
Tracee’s flair for spectacular designs was eminent in her next outfit, she shimmered on stage for another appearance in a dazzling dress by CD Greene, she looked super appealing with her natural hair styled up and allowed the dress take all the shine without adding any accessories.
Asides from always sticking to aesthetics, Tracee is voguish, hence we are not utterly surprised at her next outfit, she joined the style stars fanning our love of animal prints. Fully draped in a Sergio Hudson design (which we also saw on Bonang Matheba last month) leopard print beret, jumpsuit, gloves, and shoes Tracee killed this outfit a million times and over.
Serving up major AsoEbiBella inspiration, Tracee had on a form-fitting Ankara dress that showed off her curves in the most alluring way. The vibrant print dress is by Cameroonian designer Lavie by CK, characterized by floaty skater layers from the knee.
Hitting the stage again, this time the Blackish star opted for a simple red french cut off-the-shoulder jumpsuit by Cushnie.
In a pleated red skirt by Shanel, Tracee re-iterated her patriotic stance with a white tee emblazoned with ‘I am a Voter‘ lettering by X Karla.
With each look, Tracee was a sight for sore eyes. Richly decorated with buttons, she opted for a plunging neckline, thigh-high slit black sequin Balmain tuxedo dress. The tailored to fit number was characterized by a window pane shoulder, Tracee’s stunning look was paired with black Louboutin pumps.
Saving the best for the last, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White (Women’s) Spring/Summer 2018 collection made it to Tracee’s selection of stunning looks. Leaving her natural hair in a pretty big blowout, Tracee looked like a fairy princess in the tulle dress.
