China's Highest-Paid Actress 'Jailed ' Over Tax Evasion

She is China's highest-paid actress. Yet, despite having a profile that commands $20million each year, Fan Bingbing has not been seen in public for three months - sparking speculation that's she's imprisoned or under house arrest.

According to reports, the 36-year-old could be serving a custodial sentence for tax evasion as Chinese officials take an increasingly-stern view of celebrity wealth.

Fears for her whereabouts began after she appeared on a list ranking the social responsibility of China's biggest stars, earlier this week.

It was subsequently noted that she hasn't updated her social media accounts in roughly 12 weeks.

Then, fans observed that she vanished from view shortly after a famous TV host accused her of faking contracts to avoid paying income tax.
