Rihanna Claps Back At Sports Blogger Who Called Her Fat

She's clearly having the last laugh. On Monday, Rihanna shared a meme about Gucci Mane and his changing body, just days after a sports writer who called her 'fat' was suspended from his position.

The 29-year-old pop star captioned the weight loss meme, which showed a fuller picture of Gucci from 2007 next to his current fitter self, with a a sad crying face emoji.

The meme read: 'If you can't handle me at my 2007 Gucci Mane, you don't deserve me at my 2017 Gucci Mane,' while showing side-by-side comparisons of the Bricks rapper from both eras. The post comes just four days after Chris 'Spags' Spagnuolo was suspended from his position as a writer at Barstool Sports.

He came under fire after writing a 350-word rant about Rihanna, where he called her 'fat' and said that the Umbrella singer 'looked like she was wearing a sumo suit.'

The ill-conceived - and now deleted - piece was called 'Is Rihanna Going To Make Being Fat The Hot New Trend?'

High profile publications as well as countless Twitter users criticized the blogger following the story's publication.

Cosmpolitan.com called Barstool a 'garbage sports site', while Allure magazine tweeted: 'Using misogyny & body-shaming women as a way to earn Twitter engagement is a pretty pathetic path to success.'

After inciting the ire of the internet, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy issued a non-apology, basically throwing his writer under the bus and explaining the blog was 'not a hill I’m willing to die on.'
