A Twitter account with the handle @PDP_2019 on Friday claimed that 7 different bank accounts belonging to the Adeleke family has been frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The account had claimed that both Davido (real name David Adeleke) and his uncle Isiaka Adeleke were among those who had their accounts frozen.

While the news has been unconfirmed, the singer has reacted, after fans brought it to his attention on Twitter.

Dele Momodu, who is a friend of the family, also commented on the issue, writing on his Twitter:
I refuse to believe that anyone, in the name of politics, would freeze the bank accounts of a hardworking family THE ADELEKEs including that of this young icon DAVIDO who has done our country very proud… God save our dear beloved nation… I pray it is fake news…

He also later claimed that the news was indeed true, writing that his source was “unimpeachable.”

The news has, however, remained unconfirmed by any news agency or journalist.
