Mkhitaryan was photographed with Jude Cisse as they enjoyed a meal together at San Carlo Chiccetti, an Italian restaurant in Manchester.
Jude, 42, married Cisse in June 2005, just weeks after the striker had played a major part in Liverpool's infamous Champions League triumph in Istanbul, where they beat AC Milan on penalties in one of the great comeback victories.
The pair had three sons together, before divorcing in 2012.
In the pictures - which were taken last Thursday, before Mkhitaryan flew out to LA with his United team mates for the Red Devils' pre-season tour - the Armenia international and Jude are seen deep in conversation.
The midfielder also puts his arm around Jude at one point.
Jude, who runs a spa business in Cheshire, has kept herself in the limelight since she split from Cisse. Back in 2015, she starred in a Channel 5 documentary in 2015, about life as a single mum.
Talking about her relationship with Cisse, she said at the time:
“(It’s been) extremely painful, probably the most painful experience to date. I still fill up occasionally when I think of how sad the situation has been.
“It’s a pain that will never go away. It’s just something you learn to live with.”
